Acupuncture

is an ancient Asian healing therapy orginating in China that involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body which help to restore, regulate and promote its healing capacity so that it can function optimally.

It has a powerful and regulating effect on the body's qi (energy), positively influencing the nervous, hormonal and circulatory systems.  It is extremely relaxing and it's ability to gently encourage the body back to a state of balance makes it very effective for treating a wide variety of issues.  When balance of body, mind and spirit is achieved, health can be restored.

While the Chinese have understood the healing benefits of Acupuncture for centuries, current research has shown its effectiveness and further research continues to be done.  Acupuncture is endorsed by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Bodywork

Acupressure-Massage (a stand alone non-needle session or incorporated into an acupuncture session) where detailed attention is paid to specific areas of the body using a combination of therapeutic, manual manipulations of the body’s soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) and pressure on specific points on the body are applied to adjust qi flow through the meridians to restore, regulate and promote the body's healing capacity so that it can function optimally.

Craniosacral therapy is sometimes incorporated into sessions when appropriate as a gentle and relaxing hands-on healing form which is centered around performing delicate manipulations on the bones of the head ("cranium") and lower spine ("sacrum") in order to release restrictions, resolve pain and heal dysfunctions throughout the body.

"Reiki", the Japanese term for "universal life energy" is sometimes incorporated into sessions when appropriate and is a system of hands on or off natural healing used for stress reduction, relaxation and spiritual and emotional support.
